20 weeks!

How far along are you now?: Halfway!! I am guessing that part of the reason we carry babies for nine months is to give the parents a lot of time to get used to the idea of actually having a little one around to take care of. Now that I am halfway through and feeling regular kicks from the baby I am becoming more and more eager to meet the baby and see what life as a family of 3 will be like.

How big is the baby? The baby is 10 inches from head to toe, but is usually curled up so head to bum is about 6 1/2 inches. He or she weighs about 10 1/2 ounces right now. That's pretty big!

How are you feeling? Are you over the morning sickness yet?: I never had much morning sickness thankfully, but whatever I did have seems to be completely gone. Instead I am left very very tired. It seems that whenever I have free time all I want to do is sleep. Yesterday I took two naps and still slept over 8 hours last night. I asked my midwife about it and she was worried enough to look at the results of Iron in the blood work I got done 10 weeks ago (!) only to discover that the results never came in (!!) so they apparently "have to look into that." (!!!Argh!)

No, I mean how are you feeling getting bigger? Do you like being pregnant?: Overall, so far, yes I like this experience, it has been very interesting. I like my maternity clothes. I like my stomach getting bigger. I make my health more of a priority these days and it feels good. I especially like it when the baby kicks. Yesterday I had a (non-alcoholic) margarita that was very sugary, and the baby was kicking like crazy! A chip off the old block.

What are you missing?: Lots of stuff! I don't like having to follow all these behavior and food rules, and can't wait to get back to doing whatever I want. Specifically I am missing: alcohol. We are in Los Angeles for Easter weekend, and it killed me to not have a regular margarita at our favorite place.

OK! That's it for now!
